When should you consider a sweep?

A sweep may be appropriate when there are specific concerns about privacy, unexplained access to sensitive information, or possible interference with a private space or vehicle. We begin by discussing what happened, who has access, and what areas need examination.

Unfamiliar electronics, connection problems, or unusual device behavior do not by themselves establish that surveillance is occurring. Understanding the circumstances helps define a useful inspection.

What does an inspection involve?

The scope depends on the location, the concern, and the types of devices being considered. We discuss the proposed physical and technical examination before work begins, along with relevant access requirements and limitations.

No sweep can guarantee that every possible device will be found. A device may be inactive, inaccessible, or outside the inspection’s scope. Findings must be evaluated in context, and an unfamiliar signal alone does not prove that a recording device is present.

How much does a sweep cost?
